4th of July Celebration

We decided to go to the American Embassy 4th of July Celebration on the 7th. TThey had it at a local English medium school. The little kids sang the national anthem, hadn't heard that in awhile. They had the Marines march in the Colors (flags), few short speaches, hamburgers and hotdogs, cake walk, face painting, and cotton candy. When ever I see a gathering of Americans together I notice things like the fact that we Americans do have a certain posture, style of dress and way of approaching people. It's very interesting.
Megan slept mostly but then she got really upset. We noticed that she was developing a rash on her face, went to the doctor and she has a food alergy (something I ate) so I'm on the plain plain diet until we can isolate it. Poor thing.
Man I'm going to have to work hard to learn "American" again. Here they say candy floss instead of cotton candy and I couldn't remember the cotton candy word, yikes.
Hope y'all had a good 4th.
love,
Michele

Twins Birthday

Our friends Alica and William turned 4 on Monday. It was a public holiday, Sir Seretse Khama Day (first president of Botswana) so Jeff and I joined the Rabantheng family at a restaurant called Spur (it has an American Indian/midwest theme) and had a birthday lunch. Megan slept through the whole thing, luckily she had already had her lunch.
love,
Michele
